Trackspin: U2 - Pride (In The Name Of Love).
Can't help it if I think The Edge's tone in this song is sonic bliss.. Delay!
Hmm, shall have a short entry of the Archdiocesean Youth Day 07. Started off with me heading to church in a cab and reaching at 10, but buying breakfast from macs first, then got there at 1015, to see only Adeline sitting around. Okay, fine, granted that the meeting time was stipulated as 1015-1030h, according to Gilbert's message at about 0230h in the morning. But nooo, apparently the time was of no consequence again, and then to compound issues, Jeremy and I freaked out with logistics, because nobody told me jackshit about it this time. And no, I mean NOTHING AT ALL. So yes, I only took ONE miserable bite from my bagel at 1015h before having to put it down, rush here, there and everywhere, in, out and every which side, all in the name of finding stuff and getting the logistics settled. Wow. Wound up eating a cold breakfast only at 1100h and feeling really pissed about it.
Upon reaching, we set up stuff as usual, this and that, session was cut down til it was pretty darn short, and I wound up not having to play 3 fast songs, CONSECUTIVELY without stopping, for which I'm grateful for not having to endure hand and forearm cramps. I'm still quite irritated at the fact that it was suggested to not have any pauses for the 3 fast songs. Yeah, sure, it's definitely possible, but do give consideration to the musicians please? I mean, yeah, you all can sing and sing your hearts out and bring the crowd into a really hyped up state, but yeah, I think it's nice to ask if it's possible instead of just kind of telling us to do it that way.
So after skipping like 4 songs, which is about a third of our list, for those who care, we immediately packed up and headed back to church. And lo and behold, more logistics cockups, with a pouch with ours containing 2 mics missing. And no, it wasn't left behind at the campsite either. So where the hell is it? Nobody knows. I guess it kind of figures that this was really rushed but yeah, I hope it's also a lesson learnt for logistics-planning in future.
Went for dinner across church after spending some time crapping in church and trying on the shirts for the Youth Rally at Expo at night, then back to church we went, with a bus scheduled to pick us up to head to Expo.
The whole event was okay, on the whole. Finally saw who Ignatius Bong is, also known as Iggy Bong. And I was right about his F Bass. The worship group could have been better in some aspects though it's their own limitations and nothing others can justify saying. Their female singer couldn't hit high, and one of the two male singers was dead flat and singing out of tune. But yeah, as I said, physical limitations and nothing that can be held against them.
Personally, I think the addition of congas to the whole mix was a very good thing because it gave an alternate source of the beat, asides from the drums, especially since the bass was kind of drowned out by the singers. The lead guitar was good as well. Found the whole composition of the pieces very nice and transition flowed well too, with the exception that the singers weren't anywhere near coordinated and the person working the slides was seemingly asleep half the time coz the slides always moved late and was often on the wrong slide from what the singers were singing.
Was nice just crapping with Bernard, Adeline and Ben though. Too bad Darren wasn't around for it.
However, a really bad thing about the whole worship portion was that the songs were repeated a whole lot. Got on my nerves, especially with One Way and King Of Majesty, both of which are songs that I like. And what made it worse was the screaming done by the bunch of nitwits behind us.
Something happened also that left me wanting to kill somebody in particular for being such an asshole, but yeah. Let's just say if the earbud wasn't found, I'd be fricken yelling at you damn it. And moreover, your actions were completely uncalled for, considering I was saving my eardrums from all of your combined screaming during the repeated playings of One Way. And to top it off, you just yanked my earphones off without a single fucking care. How the hell would you like it if I did that to you? You don't know how much the earphones are, and neither was there an apology. That kind of shows the ugly side of your character, despite me being able to talk to you and the others your age. To put it simply, I was quite disgusted and extremely pissed off when you did what you did. And you jolly well know who you are..
Alright, I've said my piece, I'm tired and cranky and I need to know if there's a way to die without anyone noticing so nobody would bother missing me anyway.
