Trackspin: Hillsong - Through It All.
For those wondering about the track, I just got back from Sec2 Camp at St Teresa's with the RC kids. Hence the song on top, coz it was one of those we played. I really missed the feeling of playing with the whole group and being ourselves out there, whatwith Boomy putting down his acoustic halfway through a song and running out to join the crowd, while the rest of us were dumbstruck as we all saw him strip off the guitar and run off after waving to us, as though he was leaving already, hahaha.. The wonders of being young at heart! I'm so glad I have them and I feel I'm luckier to be able to be part of this group, this family. You're all being dearly missed despite me trying hard not to think too much about not playing with you all. Practices are so different now and yet, although things haven't changed too much, some things do feel different somewhat.. Raymond has been great though, being absolutely terrific on the drums for us.. I really admire him and his playing.. He just manages to fill in so nicely for solemn parts with mallets and all.. Awe-struck when I first played with him but then again, I still somewhat am..
Another song during camp which touched me was Everything. Val just manages the song so well that it's hard to imagine anybody else singing it for us at this point in time, whatwith her voice being what it is and I honestly say I felt touched when I heard her sing it for the first time during practice on Thursday, before camp this weekend.. It's really great that she's back from Canada to sing with us again.. The song is just so seemingly "perfect" to me when I first heard it during practice.. Simple as it was, with only Sam playing keys for it, it still managed to strike a chord in me, finding it such a beautiful song..
Anyway, I'm just leaving an entry here to say that camp was good in most aspects.. Having been able to add on to slow songs with Eugene and Raymond accompanying Sam has been great, with us just adding on with ambient sounds, Eugene with his "violin", Raymond's mallets and tasteful drumming, my volume swells and all my nonsense on my board. I get the itch to just slowly build up a board of analog/single effects. For the sake of tweakability on the move, between songs and all, instead of having to roll through tons and tons of patches, editing them, saving them before using them.. Temptation, temptation..
Alright, before I head off to bed and KO like I think I will, a very good night to the world out there.. And baby, I love you.. Thanks for being here for me through everything.. =)
